Broken but becoming beautiful, I am second oldest of five. I have been married since 2009 (you do the math), and we have a girl born in 2010, and boys born in 2011 and 2013. I used to write almost every day, be it poetry, letters, stories, or in my journal; but after hitting a particularly rough patch in life around the age of 17, I stopped. My beautiful friend Renee has encouraged us to write (http://beautifulcaptivation.wordpress.com/2014/01/02/why-you-should-tell-your-story-this-year/), so here I am, working on a blog I originally created just to comment on my friends’ posts!

I have long loved sunflowers, and also the Psalms. The two loves fit together quite well, if you think about it. Sunflowers actually follow the sun across the sky every day. David often began a Psalm in despair, asking questions, crying hot tears; but winds his way through the pain and ends on a note of praise, his face toward Heaven, knowing that God is there, that He is faithful. I try to follow the Son, and be a soul of deep beauty.
